artQ13 è una piattaforma indipendente per la ricerca artistica e la pratica sperimentale, fondata a Roma nel 2014 da Carlo Caloro e Britta Lenk.

Il nome ne dichiara il metodo: Sympatric Areas for Artistic Research — aree simpatriche, zone in cui specie differenti coesistono nello stesso territorio senza isolarsi. Discipline artistiche, scientifiche e umanistiche coabitano per il tempo di un progetto, si contaminano, e poi ciascuna torna al proprio campo. È la contaminazione temporanea, non la convivenza permanente, il principio operativo.

artQ13 opera al di fuori delle logiche di mercato, su questioni che riguardano il rapporto tra tecnologia e corpo, tra linguaggio e produzione artistica, tra dati scientifici ed esperienza diretta.

Dal 2014, oltre trenta progetti espositivi e di ricerca hanno coinvolto 210 figure tra artisti italiani e internazionali, curatori, critici, teorici, coordinatori di produzione e autori, in parte confluiti in cinque progetti editoriali.

Non si segue un programma annuale. Le linee di ricerca sono aperte.

artQ13 is an independent platform for artistic research and experimental practice, founded in Rome in 2014 by Carlo Caloro and Britta Lenk.

The name states its method: Sympatric Areas for Artistic Research — sympatric areas, zones where different species coexist in the same territory without isolating themselves. Artistic, scientific, and humanistic disciplines cohabit for the duration of a project, contaminate each other, and then return to their respective fields. The operative principle is temporary contamination, not permanent coexistence.

artQ13 works outside market-driven structures, on questions that engage the relationship between technology and the body, between language and artistic production, and between scientific data and direct experience.

Since 2014, over thirty exhibition and research projects have engaged 210 figures including Italian and international artists, curators, critics, theorists, production coordinators, and authors, partly converging into five editorial projects.

No annual programme. The research lines are open.
